How it works

No jargon, no sales call you cannot get off.

Here is the whole thing, start to finish, including the parts most companies in this market would rather not put in writing.

The short version

We get your car charging at home, cheaply, and earning where it can.

Three things have to line up: the right charger on your wall, the right tariff on your meter, and your charger signed up to the grid scheme that pays for flexible charging. Most people have none of the three. Some already have the first.

  • 1The charger. If you have one that works with us, we use it. If you do not, you buy one at one installed price, fitted by an approved installer.
  • 2The tariff. Charging overnight on the right rate is where most of the saving comes from. We set that up.
  • 3The grid scheme. Your charger shifts when it draws power, by a few minutes or a few hours, and gets paid for it. You still wake up to a full car.
Who does what

Three names, so you know who is responsible.

Neev
  • Your single point of contact
  • Sets up the tariff and the grid scheme
  • The number you call when something is wrong
The installer
  • Fits the charger
  • Responsible for the unit and the fitting
  • Carries the warranty and any return visits
The platform
  • The app you use day to day
  • Runs the grid scheme and the payments
  • Naming TBC

Whether we name the platform partner publicly is a decision for the three of us. Naming them borrows their credibility; not naming them keeps the customer relationship clearly ours. Worth five minutes on the next call.

Straight answers

Things worth knowing before you start.

Will I definitely save money?
If you currently charge at public points and you have off street parking, almost certainly, because charging at home overnight costs a fraction of charging in a car park. If you already charge at home on a good EV tariff, the gain is smaller and comes mostly from the grid scheme. We would rather tell you that now than after you have bought something. Figures TBC
What if I do not have a driveway?
Then a home charger is usually not for you, and we will say so. Running a cable across a pavement is not something we will sign off.
Am I tied in?
Answer TBC. This depends on the final terms, particularly for a replacement charger provided at no cost. We will not put a number here until it is settled, and we will not bury it when it is.
Who owns my data?
You do. We hold what we need to run your account and to tell you about things you asked to hear about. Wording TBC pending the data agreement
What happens if the company behind the app disappears?
A fair question and one we asked too. Answer TBC. We are not publishing an answer until we have seen the arrangement ourselves.

Ready when you are.
